Congressman Wu Supports Stimulus Dollars for Education
Congressman David Wu sent a letter Friday to Governor Ted Kulongoski urging him to use the discretion the federal stimulus bill gives Governor’s to support budget of not just K-12, but also colleges and universities Congressman Wu fought throughout the stimulus bill process to ensure community colleges receive a fair share of dollars for both operations and for capital projects. Governor Ted Kulongoski released the 09-11 Governor's budget on December 1 with the following recommendations:

• $485 million for the Community College Support Fund
• Three capital construction projects at Oregon community colleges
• $163 million for student financial aid
